Young IT generation is educated to become SAP professionals
07/23/2013 | News & Press
The “SAP Banking Curriculum” has been jointly developed by the University of Mannheim and the SAP service provider b²tec in order to make students ready for the changed requirements in private banking.
Nowadays the majority of financial institutions have got heterogeneous IT-landscapes that are too cumbersome to react immediately to the competitive pressure and increasing demand for more innovation of modern markets. Due to that there is an increasing demand for IT specialists and in particular SAP consultants, which is by far not satisfied by the existing SAP experts.
The purpose of the newly developed SAP course at the University of Mannheim is to educate young professionals, especially students of business economics and informatics providing them with theoretical and practical knowledge of enterprise systems in retail banking.
b²tec, being more than ten years active as SAP consultant and software provider for banking, is responsible for the practical background of the course, including the introduction to the modules of the current SAP Banking Services 8.0, possible architecture concepts and further functions.
The University of Mannheim is planning to continue SAP Banking Curriculum together with b²tec and SAP. It will help to prepare more young professionals for the new tasks in retail banking, as many financial institutions are still looking forward to the integration of standardized processes and systems.
